New rules for trashcans are going into place in Colorado Springs

These new trash laws hope to make it harder for bears to get your scraps. Colorado Springs has had a lot of bear encounters as of late so the city is trying to put a new ordinance into place that would only allow you to have your trashcan in a non-covered area during certain hours on pickup day. If you don't have a shed or garage to store your can, you could make the switch to "bear resistant" garbage bins.
