Today marks the 8th anniversary of Bob Geldof's Live 8; an especially memorable occasion for Floyd heads.

Somehow, humanitarian and star of Pink Floyd's "The Wall" film convinced the four core members, who hadn't performed together in 24 years, to reunite for his London event. The animosity was subtle, but still apparent; at the end of the set, while thanking the crowd, Gilmour, Wright and Mason embraced like long lost brothers while noticably leaving Waters to himself.

Unfortunately, this would be the last time that the four core members would perform together as Rick Wright passed away a couple of years later.  Pink Floyd fanpage "Brain Damage" did an extensive piece on the show two years ago complete with pictures, that you can find here.
