The National Weather Service has extended the Flood Advisory for the Cache La Poudre River in Larimer County.

On Tuesday, June 3 at 10:45 am, the stage at the canyon mouth was 7.3 feet after falling to around 7.0 feet last night. Flood stage is considered 7.5 feet.

The forecast is for water levels in the Poudre River to rise back to around 7.4 feet this evening. At 6.0 feet the water is over the bike path and trail in Fort Collins.

Weather is dry and warmer today, increasing snowmelt runoff. Thunderstorms and showers will increase by Thursday and the latter part of this week there are higher chances for precipitation east of the Continental Divide with heavier rain possible on the plains.

Temperatures are forecast to be cooler this weekend which should help slow snowmelt a bit.
