In 2013, Journey guitarist Neal Schon said he was open to the return of former singer Steve Perry.  Schon mentioned the possibility of bringing Perry along for a farewell tour, eventually.

Perry seems to be open to the idea, but he also is not necessarily jumping on the opportunity.  He tells Artisan News, "I haven’t worked with Neal. We’re trying. It’s tough. I’m doing my best in that area and I can only do so much.”

In 1998, Journey replaced Perry with Steve Augeri.  Currently, Arnel Pineda serves as the band's lead singer.  To many observers, he's been the only singer capable of replacing Perry.

Pineda would likely remain with Journey if Perry returned, according to Schon.
